Where i live you just go to the health department, pay $17 and they send it to you. You can also get one from the court house.

Contact the county that the child was born in, the hospital is probably required to submit a live birth certificate for every child they deliver & the county will give you an official copy for $20 or $30, depending on the county.

I used to be the recorder at the birthing center here. You should have gotten the birth certificate by now! It should have taken maybe a month or so. Did you get a hospital certificate? Remember that is just for your records, it is not an official document. Please call the birthing center/hospital and they will have a log that should have your name and the baby's info and when the paperwork was turned in. Also, they can direct you on how to proceed from there and get the certificate. Good Luck!

Thats really tough, especially since you can't even remember if you signed it. If you never got one when she was born, since the hospital didn't issue you guys one its going to be a process to get her one.
A friend of mine her son's birth certificate was signed by one of the midwives that turned out to not have been certified at the time, which meant that the birth certificate was not valid. Because of this she had to get him a completely new one. To do this you have to prove your child's existence, which means having hospital records and day care records (school if their older) and things like that.
If she was never given one by the hospital then thats a mistake by them and they should have a record of her birth she was only born a year ago it shouldn't be to hard to track. But if they don't its gonna be a pain.
Sorry that your stuck with something this annoying dealing with goverment stuff like this is a pain ^_^

You write or go online to the Bureau of Vital Statistics in your state. Fill out a form, pay the fee and you will receive a certified birth certificate is usually six weeks.

The birth certificate issued by your hospital is pretty useless anyway. What you'll need for official use (passport, social security, etc.) is a government issued birth certificate with a raised state seal. Vitalcheck.com is what I've used in the past and been very happy with their service.
Good Luck!

It is very easy. All you have to do is go to your local health department. I think it is $16.50 to be exact. That's what my sons cost. You don't get it from the hospital. All the hospital does is give you a piece of paper to order it by mail and pay for it that way or go to your local health department. It's not a problem. I wish that the hospital gave you a copy but of course you cannot get anything for free these days. Good luck!

Call the County Courthouse and ask what you need to do to get a copy . Some you have to go up to and show proof of who you are. (drivers license) It is going to be the county she was born in. I'm assuming you are in the U.S. It generally cost between 10.00 and 30.00 for a copy.. My advice , they will offer more than one at cheaper rates say you buy one regular price get the next one for 1/2 off. Go ahead and buy a couple to 3. Keep them in special places just in case something ever happened. It's alot easier to go find the other one than to have to go back to the courthouse and do the same thing over.
