My friend told me that he has been dreaming every night that he has to get ready for work and he can only find pants that are too short and can only find red socks to wear. Does anyone know how this can be interpreted, especially on a spiritual level?

In general terms, clothing is about the attitudes we put on in public. That he is getting dressed for work, is specific to his attitude at work. The clothes don't fit. I think it likely that the job does not fit, either. I'm not sure what to make of the red socks,
if he isn't a fan of Boston baseball teams, then I would look at the emphasis of the color red on his feet. Red is for things like passion and courage, and I feel it is time he get the courage to get walking, and look for another job. It may be a perfectly nice job, but there is some reason why he is not a perfect fit, it could be that he is doing a job he isn't suited for for the time being in order to get by, or it could be they are holding him back at work, he may be frustrated in realizing his potential there, or maybe he doesn't quite fit in the company "culture". Whatever the reason is, he should brush up his resume, and try to find somewhere he would enjoy working better. Wish him good luck for me....

Wow! I read the dream and didn't sense anything morbid at all!! Not sure how the 1st answerer got that from this dream. I really think that he's struggling with being concerned about what others think of him and how he "looks" to others. I think he might benefit from a conversation with someone who's opinion means a lot to him -- maybe just asking a boss if he's performing okay at work, for example. But truthfully, it may be someone socially who's opinion he's concerned about. You seem like a great friend -- maybe he justs needs to talk a few things out. Good luck!

Don't criticize me or anything but, I belive the short pants and red socks represent a future misfortune in his life.

While going to, or while at work, he will get into some type of accident, he will lose both his legs. His socks will be stained red from the blood of his severed legs. He will no longer need socks as he has lost his legs, the red pair will be his only pair, he has kept them as a momento of the accident. From that day on he will wear long pants but they will be knotted at the stumps making them appear too short to whear.

I hope this doesn't come true.

Its not easy to accurately interpret a dream from second hand information. Your friend should put this question up. But I can say for sure that he has insecure feelings and severe doubts about his performance in his daily job. Deep down he feels he's not ready to do the work he is employed to do by reason of inadequate training or inadequate preparation for the job. His sub conscious is bringing this out when it takes over his consciousness when he goes into sleep.

Short Answer: He likes those colors and style best. His mind is merely trying to tell him he prefers shorts and red socks. Tell him to record his day of how he felt and what happened. Then, tell him to put the clothing on he had in his dreams & record his day again. Figure out the differences and comparisons he had. Also, just tell him if he feels comfortable with that type of clothing.
