Mayweather beat a prime Jose Luis Castillo, Diego Corrales, DeMarcus Corley, Zab Judah, Jesus Chavez and Ricky Hatton. He has beat living legends Oscar de la Hoya and Arturo Gatti. He took out Emmanual Augustus quicker than anyone else. He has had some great accomplishments however there is one thing he hasn't done and that is to unify a division. Fortunately he is in the division with the biggest stars to give him ATG status is he is to beat Cotto and/or Williams then he has done all he can do. There is a legitimate argument that he has business that is undone.

you are compeletely missing the point. being the best means proving it in the ring by beating the young strong champions of your time. De la hoya is on the downside of his career so is mosley at this point. And Hatton is a naturally smaller guy.
Cotto, Williams, Margarito are the men mayweather should be calling out. especially Cotto.
Oscar fought Quartey, Trinidad, Mosely, Vargas, and B Hops. All while they were still in their prime and not naturally smaller guys. Mayweather hasn't fought a list of guys this good while they were in their prime.
And the thing is Oscar Never Had To! He could have fought lesser guys and still made millions.
Mayweather has the talent to beat anyone, but he has to prove it in the ring. he needs to beat Cotto.
I could care less what mayweather does outside the ring.

I give Mayweather plenty of respect, particularly after the Hatton fight. It really depends what Mayweather wants, he can't expect to go around saying he's the greatest of all time without fighting more of the top contenders out there. He is the greatest now, but if he stays in retirement he will not be the legend he wants to be, period. I encourage him to live up to his potential and fight 4-5 more great fights before he retires.
p.s. Kinda lame shooting down other people's opinions using the race card. Shows you probably aren't prepared to think.

Mayweather is probably the best fighter in the world, probably being the key word, I do not like him, I can not think of anyone he would fight where I would not root against him. Do not even really know what you mean by the question, If the only reason he would continue fighting is to get my respect... well then he ought to quit.

truthfully it fairly is no longer who Floyd Mayweather beat that makes him hype up yet Manny Pacquiao who belong to the comparable branch the place he's at the instant campaigning. purely evaluate if Manny replaced right into a Flyweight, do you think of we are able to be conversing of Floyd the comparable way as this is now? it fairly is the attractiveness of Manny Pacquiao who replaced into in parallel to Floyd's popularity that brings the hype. in actuality, with the aid of fact of those, i might say that Pacquiao is assisting Floyd Mayweather in his occupation and vice versa. Floyd Mayweather's have an unquestionable success in boxing that benefit recognitions now and while he retires. That undefeated checklist communicate for itself. warring parties that he despatched to retirement. The checklist on stay gates and PPV numbers potential plenty and could be evaluate interior the destiny and in fact replaced into getting used as a gauge to degree and learn different fights on how effective the different combat have been. a lot of those shows how super he's and the place he would be place interior the history of boxing. whether he combat lower back or no longer, his legacy would be a magnificent subjects some years from now.

Mayweather would have to fight 8 times a year for 3 years, win every fight by KO and there will still be people claiming he's ducked someone. It's impossible to please everyone, so there's no point in trying. Mayweather has earned the respect of all knowledgeable and clear thinking boxing critics and fans. Pay no attention to the lunatic fringe and drop the race baiting. Otherwise you come off as lunatic fringe yourself.
Relax, dude. Your boy is undefeated and at the top of the game. Enjoy it rather than worry what every goofball and his/her 3rd cousin thinks. That kind of thinking will make you crazy.

He should be fighting all of these guys. DeLaHoya and Hatton were a great start. When he fights fighters with skill similar to him then beats these men that is when he deserves respect.
