....what about hazing?

It can be your greatest experience or your worst. If you are looking to join, make sure you look very carefully at each of the sororities or frats to see which one would fit best for you. In the system there are social, party, and intellectual groups. Find out where the system stands with the university and frankly where it would stand on your resume later. A party frat or sorority won't offer you much if a career in business is your dream. Then look at whether you need to join a group and whether you can deal with your school work and the dynamics of a house and what that will require of you. Everything comes with a caveat. Hazing is wrong and outlawed. Be sure up front you know what the house's principles are before you sign on.

depends on the the system in place at your school. I personally love the greek system on my campus cause it gave me an opprotunity to be a leader where I had none before.

As for hazing with all the national restricitions on national recognized greek houses it hardly ever happens compared to that of varsity or club sports team on colleges which are less watched over

They're for insecure losers who won't have any friends otherwise.

As far as hazing, let 'em do what they want.
