I have a full back piece. ....from my neck to just above my bottom. It is fully colored and very detailed. The outline was $600.00 and each sitting after that was $200.00 (2-3 hour sittings) So far I have spent $1600.00 and have 2-3 sittings left. My artist is pretty fast and gets alot done each sitting. So I figure by the time I am done it will be just over $2000.00. With a large piece you can go at your own pace. I had to take a break due to the cost. I wasnt expecting it to cost that much. I guess I should have asked more questions like you before I started on such a large piece! But I figure when I am all done I will have a beautiful piece of art for the rest of my life.....well worth the investment! Good luck to ya!

I know many people with large tattoos (back pieces and chest pieces among others) and a few artists that do them. It will cost quite a sum of money, but you most likely won't need to save for the entire piece at once. The artist will do it in sessions. There will probably be 1 or 2 on outlining alone followed by (depending on the artist and how they work) a couple of black and white shading sessions followed by a few coloring sessions. Good luck with everything!!

I have one that is 8" x6", full color, blues, pinks, greens, a good bit of white (that actually turned out beautifully for a change on me. I didn't pay a thing for it because it was done in the tattoo studio I was piercing in, but if I had to have paid for it, it would have been $350 because of the fact that it is quite complex. It took about 2.5 hours to do.

i have a full backpiece and it cost around $2000 and took almost 2 years to do. i took my time in getting it so i wouldn't feel the need to get "more". but a full back tattoo could be done in under 6 months if you have it done every couple of weeks or so. there's a picture of it on my 360 if you want to see how it turned out.

Mine is on my back..it goes from my shoulderblades to a little before my lower back. It is fairy wings (send me a message to see pictures). The cost was... I'd like to say between $200-300, but I've had it for about 2 years so I don't remember for sure. Was done over 4 sessions, but a year later I wanted more added onto them so that was done in one session.

Backpiece 8 inches by 12 inches, cost me $450 total. It was a cover-up. I have also heard I got a STELLAR deal. And the compliments made saving up for it SO worth it. Best of luck to you!
