They're both male puppies. One is 8-months-old (male Shih-tzu) and the other is about 6 months (french bulldog). I'm not sure whether they're just playing or actually fighting because sometimes I hear them growling although they don't really bite hard. They have separete crates and separate play pens and they only get together when under supervision. They also have a tendency to be very possesive and selfish--they can't share toys or anything. =S

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

It sounds like playing. Puppise love to play. Helps release energy and learn new dog skills. They growl and bark and like to play chase a lot. They will also try to play keep away and chase each other or play tug o' war. They are developing and it's in any dog's nature usually.

You really do need someone who knows about dog behavior see what they are doing just to be sure. It could escalade and get too rough. Are they fixed? That'll help prevent them recourse guarding and claiming their territory.

Puppies sholdn't be left with other dogs alone because they can bond with dogs and not people. It is good to give them exposure to as many different dogs and people as you can and get them out and about. it's great that they have their own crates! They should always be supervised when together. You are doing the right things, it just sounds like tehy are having fun. If tehings get too out of hand, then you'll need to adjust and find what is causing the problem.

They're most likely playing. If they actually cause harm, you would know. Just keep an eye on them when they're playing. It could eventually end up being agression though. Two un-neutered male dogs together is not a good idea.

Getting them both fixed will help too.

It sounds to me like they are playing. If they were fighting, there wouldn't be any question about it - trust me. Plus, they are a little young to be fighting. However, unless you neuter them both (preferably at the same time) they will be fighting - and frequently. Both are at the age when they can be neutered.

Watch " The Dog Whisperer " on TV.

You need to be the head of your pack.

Well, you need to have a "dog person" watch them and see if they are just playing (probably they are). If they are playing, let them play.

Dogs do tend to be posessive and selfish - "share" is not in their vocabulary.
