No we don't.
We don't get offended when we sneeze and some one 'blesses' us.
We are not strange folks, we try very hard to apply the admonitions that God gave us in treating other people, such as 'as you want men to treat you, so you treat them.
Just don't be hurt if your cheerful holiday greetings aren't returned. It's not because we don't love you and wish you the best, we just don't believe that Christians should observe some of the holidays that are being observed.

No we don't, we highly respect all religions and there Holidays and never make fun or rude remarks. Most people forget that most witnessess used to celibrate the holidays, until they learned the real meaning of them, how they originated and what they stand for. All holidays and there originallity can be found in any library, It's just most people dont care or have time or have what they consider more important things in life. If your going to serve the true God then your going to serve him with what the truth is and not what man makes up mostly for greed, money, prominence, power and comercializim.
Remember Jesus said the gift of life is free.
He nor his apostles charged anything they tought. So to we don't paid, charge, we use our own money, gas, cars, meeetings and studies of the Bible are free. We don't go door to door always to teach but we are there to help people in other ways if they need it and we can afford it.
But that was a good question , next time they knock ask some real serious questions, don't be affraid, they will give you an honest and true answer. Where else can you get all this for free?
Sincerely yours,
Fred M. Hunter

You are correct, we usually do not respond in that fashion. She may have strong feelings about the matter and did not respond properly for your sincere wish!
As strongly as we do not believe in celebrating holidays, we do not wish to take away from others joy and good feelings. We usually say a thank you and leave it at that or might say I hope you have a good day or year!
Sorry about that response , she might not have been meaning to offend you, we do make mistakes and it is at times it is difficult to handle matters at the door with different people, not that you acted wrongly!

No.....Jw's are not offended by holiday greetings, we understand that not all people realize that everyone does not celebrate holidays.
We live in a world that bascially follows the lead of the majority, we work with you, we live next door to you, we go to school with you, although we know how you feel about things, sometimes you never take the time to learn about us, and if you do,. it's to be critical.
This is not to say the poster is critical, but a lot of the answers from others were.
Peace

No of course we dont take offense. We appreciate that most people dont have the same beliefs we do.We wouldnt be preaching door to door otherwise.
Alot of us have come out of Christendom and have at one time joined in these celebrations. But through diligant and careful study of the Scriptures we have learnt what is and what isnt acceptable to God.
We have people who are just plain rude to us.But Jesus told us to just 'shake the dust off our feet' and go to the next door, and we do.

that doesn't bother us in the least. I have people tell me Merry Christmas almost every day. I say "you have a good day to." We hear it all and do not take offense when someone is nice and we realize they are wishing us well.
I do not curse anyone, even the mean ones I feel they have a right to free will and free choice. I still wish only the best for them.

No because All the standard encyclopedias and reference works agree that the date of Jesus’ birth is unknown and that the churches borrowed the date of December 25 from the Romans, along with their customs and festivities. Here are some typical comments: “The ecclesiastical calendar retains numerous remnants of pre-Christian festivals—notably Christmas, which blends elements including both the feast of the Saturnalia and the birthday of Mithra.” (“Encyclopædia Britannica”) “It is usually held that the day [December 25] was chosen to correspond to pagan festivals that took place around the time of the winter solstice, when the days begin to lengthen, to celebrate the ‘rebirth of the sun.”’ (“Encyclopedia Americana”) “On this day [December 25], as the sun began its return to northern skies, the pagan devotees of Mithra celebrated the birthday of the invincible sun.”—“New Catholic Encyclopedia.”
Saturnalia was a seven-day Roman festival running from December 17 to 24, held in honor of Saturn, the god of agriculture. The festival was marked by boisterous feasting, drinking, merrymaking, dancing, gift-giving and the decorating of homes with evergreens. December 25, the birthday of Mithra the sun-god, originally the Babylonian god of light, became the climax of the week-long celebrations.
In an effort to make converts of the pagans and to win back those fallen away to such worldly practices, the Roman Church, in the middle of the fourth century, ‘Christianized’ Mithra’s birthday and adopted the date and customs, but designated it as a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. Thus was born Christmas.

It seems to me you were polite and respectful.
No. We do not take offense when wished a happy holiday, no matter what the holiday might be. We just don't return the greeting. Not THAT way anyway. I normally just say "Thank you and YOU have a great day."
Not a big deal, but thank you for your concern.

I don't think they would take offence. It's easy to forget that we don't celebrate these things. I've had many people say Merry Christmas to me even in the door to door ministry. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
