Just like a human baby the puppy doesn't know appropriate play times. In order to turn his days around you need to make sure he is fed well before he goes to bed (you should be feeding a 6 week old at least 3 times - preferably 4 times a day with as much good quality puppy food as they will eat). If you can play with the pup during the day do that to exhaust some of the pups energy and to teach the pup that daytime = playtime. The next step is to ignore the puppy at night, put the pup in it's sleeping spot ( a crate if you have one, or a box with bedding the pup can't get out of) and ignore him unless he is hungry or soiled, if you play with him he will think that play at night is the way things should be.
Be persistent and it will pay off in the end.
Good luck with it all.

Well, as you can see other people can agree, you did not get your chi from a reputable breeder, 6 weeks is way to young. You should perhaps call animal control and tell them that this unresponsible breeder is selling the pups at 6 WEEKS! that is WAY to young. But since he is yours now... puppies are more difficult than people expect them to be. Since your dog is waking you up and not letting you sleep, try crate training, it works WONDERS! And, the dog won't be peeing in your house while your sleeping, and while your not home. Just buy a med sized crate, and have him sleep in there everynight (with blankets).. He will cry for the first few nights/days for about up to an hour, just don't let him out when he cries, or else you will never be able to sleep lol. Your dog will eventually learn that when he goes in his crate that it is time to either sleep, or your leaving for work. Just have patience with your new pup, and he should be trained in no time.
Also, make sure he isn't filled with energy before you put him to bed! play fetch for at least 20 mins about a half hour before you put him to bed, and make sure he is somewhat active in the evening hours, and also, make sure he does both "number 1 and 2" before bed... or at least just number 1.

Well, I see you've taken enough for getting a puppy too young, so i won't get into that. Also, for people who say it's a no-good pup because it's not a breeder puppy, that's a lie! Dogs aren't better because they're a pure-bred. I have a mutt and she is so sweet!
Now, to answer you're question, feed your puppy a little earlier and play with it for a few hours throughout the day, even if it's tired. That'll wear it out and help it sleep better.

Play with him more during the day, and play with him before he goes to sleep. When my dog was a pup I would play with her at 11 pm for about 30 minutes. That tired her out enough to go back to sleep for the rest of the night.
And don't play with him at 3 am or he is going to come to expect it. If he won't go back to sleep, you might need to get a crate for him.

Is your puppy crate trained? Play with him alot when you get home from work. WHen he gets put to bed, do not reward him by playing with him when he gets you up. If he has to go to the bathroom, take him outside then put him right back to bed. You don't want to inadvertantly teach him that getting up at night = playtime.

Play with him just before you go to bed, but be careful not to exhaust him too much, remember he is only a baby.

Should have gotten it from a good breeder that would have kept it until at least 8 weeks. Then this is less of a problem!!!!

he is WAY TO YOUNG to be away from mom and littermates,, he is missing out on VITAL socialization skills he can only learn from his mom and littermates...
at this age, you will have to get up every few hours to let him go to the bathroom,,, he cannot hold it long...
WAY TO YOUNG,,,,,, shame on you for getting a puppymill/backyard bred CHIHUAHUA
