I would be all for school uniforms except for one thing...I HATE WEARING SKIRTS!! Thus I go for what you say too, schools should enforce their dress codes. I've seen kids who get away with inappropriate clothing only because they're "popular" and the teacher or principal doesn't want to be "uncool" for telling them they can't wear certain clothing items.

I am a parent and I do not think that we need to have uniforms. Why do they think that everyone has to suffer because some do not adhere to the dress code already in place? Call the parents of the offenders every time that they wear something inappropriate to school and make them bring them something else or take their child home. That is today's mentality, someone does something wrong they change everything for everyone. Nobody is responsible for their own actions. The offenders are the ones that should pay the consequences for their actions. The kids will only wear what you buy. If you do not buy offending clothes then they will not have any to wear. It is also expensive because they still have to be bought regular clothes also. Teachers do not get fired for looking at their students. They do not get fired for enforcing rules either.

My kids wear uniforms and I love it. The only thing I don't get, is in our school district ALL the elementary students wear uniforms..about 1/2 the middle school students wear them and NONE of the high schoolers do. I thought the point of uniforms was to stop gang related problems at school...if so...shouldn't they be more worried about the high schoolers then the kindergartener through 5th graders!?

I don't really think I would like wearing a uniform. I like to dress freely. I like wearing colorful and cute clothes. The only way I would wear a uniform is if I was going to school in Japan.

I have to agree with your dad, but for different reason. Going to school is not a fashion show. If all students are dressed alike then there is no reason for the I'm better than you scenario, everyone is treated equally. It would also make my life in the morning alot easier, I wouldn't have to argue with my daughter about her clothes.

they think of it will end bullying, yet what it extremely stops is individuality. there's a line in a song that is going "as long as i'm risk-free, i’ll help law giving people who already have too lots potential, purely a sprint extra", and that's precisely what's happening while they enact those regulations. they are in simple terms empowering the bullies by using getting even the administration to give way, and get rid of the final element the sufferers have, their means to particular themselves outwardly. all that, on an analogous time as nevertheless getting bullied as though not something had ever replaced. bullying isn't dermis deep, and neither is any answer which will ever end it. if people decide on the bullying to end, end attempting to make a sprint risk-free-haven for the youngsters in a international it incredibly is not risk-free, take down the protective little cushiony partitions, and enable them to advance up like they have for generations before. and maximum heavily, end letting the bullies win. if bending the regulations will purely supply your enemy an benefit, then do not do it. and in case you think of infants at present "gown like fools", it is your opinion, yet to take it to the point which you help taking that precise faraway from them purely helps the close-minded mentality of a international it incredibly is meant to be so lots extra open-minded than our "stuffy old grandparents". notice that this paragraph isn't directed to the guy who asked the question.

I agree with MamaBear, my step-daughter is in 5th grade and has to wear a uniform. But the middle school and high school students do not. I don't understand it either.
I think it would be easier to wear uniforms because then you wouldn't have to spend so much time in the morning worrying about what to wear.

This is such an age old debate and a waste of time. School uniforms are always going to be required because of the safety reasons behind it.
