I have a spare can of cherry pie filling and a brick of cream cheese. I also have the staples. But no whipped topping, graham crackers, etc. I want to make something sweet (I'm having a craving) but have no ideas on what I can make. Any ideas for something simple?

Make a stuffed french toast... Combine the cream cheese with some of the cherry pie filling... Spread between two slices of bread OR stuff in a pocket of some thick cut bread... Make an egg batter with some eggs, milk, vanilla and fry the bread in a bit of butter... top with more of cherry pie filling....

OR if you have a boxed cake mix... YELLOW or white.. You can make a dump cake... Take a large can of crushed pineapple juice and all and dump in a greased 13x9 inch baking dish... Top with cherry pie filling... NEXT pour the boxed dry cake mix on top.... I like to use a grater and "grate" a whole stick of butter on top of the dry cake mix and bake for about 45-50 min... Until golden... You can serve with ice cream....

Good luck

Pie filling makes a great topping for cakes or cupcakes. You can either use the filling as a frosting or actually insert it into the cupcake. You can poke holes on the top of an actual cake and let it soak down through or make a layered cake and use it as the glue between layers. It adds a ton of flavor to boxed or home made cake recipes without a lot of extra work or time. Some possible flavor combinations include a spice cake with the apple pie filling, white or angel food cake with the blueberry filling, or a dark chocolate cake with the cherry filing. You can also use pie fillings to make fruit cobblers or fruit crisps rather than using fresh fruit. It creates a much sweeter desesrt than using fresh fruit, but has a ton of flavor. You could also just heat the filing and pour it over some ice cream for a quick sundae after dinner.

If you have powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and butter then you could make a kind of cream cheese icing to go on a chocolate cake and put the cherries on top.

If you just have the cherry filling and the cream cheese, put them together and put them in little cups and freeze them for an hour.

It's good also with some crumbled graham crackers.

Mix the cream cheese with 1/3 cup of sugar, 2 tsp for vanilla and dash of salt until creamy. If you have sugar cookies, dinner rolls or canned biscuits, roll it out into a flat disc. Bake until golden brown. When cooled, spread on the cream cheese mixture and top with the cherry pie filling.

Just spread the cherry filling over the cream cheese and eat it with crackers, bagels, etc.

If you have crescent roll dough, make them but put just a little of the cream cheese (beaten with some icing sugar and a little vanilla extract) and the pie filling and roll them up!

What more do you need?? A bite with both sounds yummy!

I think I would leave the staples out though (sorry, I had to say that).
