Do you listen to music or radio while cooking?

My mom used to listen to radio. Since I share kitchen with others, yesterday, I used headphones while cooking. I also notice that workers in cafeteria's kitchen have headphones or listen all to radio.

Definitely! The radio has to be on. Either when I was at work and still now at home. One place I worked at, Chef did not allow any music of any kind. Only the women in the laundry room could faintly listen to the radio. I always tried to work at a work table in the hallway leading to the laundry room because I cannot stand to work in silence or a dull hum.

Oh dear, the youth of today. How did we manage life 30 years ago!. Seriously, one way that classical music was disseminated in the 19th century was by piano reductions of famous scores, either by the composer or by others. These ranged from versions of popular opera arias, to symphonies of Beethoven to pot pourris of tunes from Strauss operettas. But as other have said, people went out more and participated more. For example, every town would have its own choral society singing favourite oratorios supported by a local orchestra.

Yes, I do, I find it helps me get into my zone, but obviously not too loud, or you don't hear the Chef yelling out orders!!

I have music going all day, mostly my own CD's.

i have tv on..mostly the foodnetwork or different shows that i listen to..comedies :)
