I am looking at getting a 1.5 cctw (engagement and wedding combo) for my girlfriend. Color-G, Clarity-SI2. It is 14K white gold and will cost about $2300. I have looked at rings for her but this is the only one I really have like so far, especially clarity and color. I really like the idea that she would have matching rings and all that would be left is getting me a cheap band when we marry since I don't really like jewelry.

It's a reputable place. Believe me I wouldn't buy from a place I didn't trust. Others I know have bought from them too. I also have plenty for a down payment and in some cases purchase of a home so that is of no concern of mine. Also I am doing this for her on my own will. She has never asked for such things. Thanks for your comments though.

That actually sounds like a really good deal. You are getting a near colorless diamond with some noticeable inclusions. Sounds like you've done some researching.

We spent $3000 on mine.

I think for both that is a reasonable price. We paid $1800 for my engagement ring, Clarity-VS1 Color F Cut Brilliant 0.65 carat. Then we paid 500 a piece for our wedding bands. We got a real deal on the bands. My husband wanted matching bands. We got lucky and found what we liked at a Zales Outlet store so we got a great deal. They are 14k yellow gold as is my engagement ring with VS1 color G diamonds channel set in them. So total we spent $2800 for everything.

If you want a diamond that size then go for it but in my opinion I think a smaller stone with better clarity would be preferred. $2300 is a good price for an engagement ring/wedding ring and I like doing the combo thing (that's what I have and I love not having two rings! I'm sure she will love what ever you choose for her, though!

Mine was around $1500 (half that for UK money) but mine is not a diamond so I am not an expert on whether that is a good diamond for the money. I'd say spend what you are comfortable with spending and do not feel pressured into spending more than you can afford.

Sounds like it's a good deal. Just be sure you can't see any inclusions with naked eyes.

Answering your question - my original engagement ring cost $1700. When my husband upgraded a few years later, the custom ring (custom to include the original solitaire) cost close to $25k.

For that type of ring sounds like a good price. Plus you are doing both rings in one which is a great idea and honestly a better deal. Sounds like gorgeous rings.

For 1.5 carat, that seems VERY cheap....either let me know where to go to get one.....or check that what they are telling you about the colour & clarity is indeed as they say.

Eg: We are lookinh at a 1carat VS1 E colour, and it's $4700.00 (In Australia, but the exchange rate is V good at the moment, so the diff shouldn't be that much!)

That's a great price for a ring combo.

That seem right for the quality and what not.

The one that my H2B and I picked out is 1.5ct flawless, it was $7200

But that one sounds great!! It's cute you're putting sooo much time and effort into this. She's going to love it!! And even more when she finds out how detailed you were. :o)

Sounds like a great deal! I'd like to know where I can get in on that. Go for it, especially if its the one you love.
