I guess some people have some satisfaction for that.

Say it isn't so!? I have been called so many names here that I actually giggle if some sob comes up with something original.

One time I told Line Dancer to lighten up....she was acting like I slept with her husband...she has been calling me Unsilenced Ham since...Maybe she is a he....Oh well...I still didn't sleep with his husband.

Often, but not always

some don't answer, but we never see them.

And other are so desperate to answer that they will write anything, without even read and thinking the question though.

The first show a much higher level of intelligence.

In the case of character assassination, it can depend on the character which is being assassinated.
Some people do write some mind blowingly stupid and offensive questions, however they are rare.
Outside of the afore mentioned exception character assassination shows a weak and ignorant mind.

LOL....Yes I think the majority agrees , this is R & S , bs..... from anyone who doesn't like what you're saying....lol...
It is I agree pathetic..Sadly I am guilty too, I let my emotions get the best of me when defending my faith and I don't play nice ...
It seems so many can dish it out , but they cannot take it ...
And the fan mail just keeps coming....lol...I am reminded I am not here to gain fans , but to rightly divide the truth and to always be ready to give an answere for the reason I believe..
You do have to wonder sometimes about the mentality of some people on here tho'....lol....And if that's the only way they get satisfaction , we should pity them...if it weren't soooo- funny....
Good point, take care sweetie ~Leah.....

Yes, I have noticed and it's wrong. But I have also noticed the multitude of ignorant questions asked simply to goad Christians and mock God.

I have been home all day today and have been in Y/A a lot of the time. I am truly embarrassed for people who come in here professing Christianity and all the while showing their hind quarters with little or no knowledge of God's word while trying to defend their faith or what the Bible teaches.

Proverbs 10:19 In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, But he who restrains his lips is wise.

Yes. That's called an "Ad Hominem Attack" and it's a classic example of a logical fallacy. People are quite keen on "attacking the speaker instead of the argument". Just take a look at any "debate" between Presidential nominees. They sling mud like there's no tomorrow. That's "ad hom". They don't attack the positions of the others, they simply attack the others.

I guess that they have forgotten that one day they are going to have to give an account for every unkind word that they spoke.
Proverbs 15:2 The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of the fool gushes folly.
Proverbs 18:6 A fool's lips bring him strife, and his mouth invites a beating
Provers 18:7 A fool's mouth is his undoing, and his lips are a snare to his soul.
Proverbs 21:23 He who guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself from calamity.

These people who are unfairly lashing out at others because they do not have an intelligent response are trying to hurt the other person, but in actual fact, what they are doing is making themselves look like fools to everyone else on the Internet.
They end up hurting themselves, because others loose respect for them.

I had no idea the extent of the venom that is spewed from fundies until I began to participate here.

Unfortunately, I make the mistake, all too often, of lumping all Christians in with the hate filled ignorant ones. My mistake.

That is true. Many people lack the elegance of constructive communication. They do not know how to approach conflict resolution because of this deficit. When they start to feel inadequate due to their lack of said skills, they begin to feel inferior and defensive. Their "learned" behavior in that situation is to lash out.

Yes, i have noticed. And how is it they can? How can anyone POSSIBLY get to know a persons character on here any how? It is upsetting. Especially when i go out of my way to be polite and non- sarcastic.
