Probably referring to a date set by the Mayan Calendar which runs out on that date - the date supposedly set by the Mayan race as the end of times.

1.human stupidity
2.when the galaxy collides with andromeda galaxy, and their black holes combine, in about 2-3 billion years
3.when our sun goes out in about 4-5 billion years.
