No, the Bible did not lie--it is the word of God and He can not lie. The question I ask you is this: are you a Christian? have you ever given your existence to Jesus Christ? Do you every day walk with Him and communicate with Him? study something of the passage in context and you will actual see what I propose. Why would desire to every person, not to show God, provide you that form of money without your having shown which you're able to spend it properly? that is like giving stricken banks billions of greenbacks to keep them from financial cave in. ;D money would not convey happiness, yet one verse if you're going to tug one out of the Bible is "satisfaction your self interior the Lord and he will provide you the desires of your coronary heart." (Psalm 37:4) in case you satisfaction interior the Lord, will He not supply for you? i'm able to allow you comprehend for a hundred% certainty that the respond is definite. would God bless you!!!

This verse does not mean you can ask for anything and expect God to jump to your every whim. What this means is that if it is in the will of God. Read the passage again, does it say, ask and you receive, just want you want? No it says ask and you shall receive- I ask God time and time again to heal me from a chronic pain disease- I did not receive that healing- however I did ask and I did receive something- and you know what that something is- His grace, and it is sufficient for my every day needs, and His presence. I knocked and it was open, and guess what I found- peace that passes all understanding.

I understand exactly where you are coming from mathew.
The Good news is that once you get past the hurt and anger over the deception and guilt, you come to a place of acceptance and greater understanding.
Life is soooooo much better without religion. It has meaning an purpose and doesn't require negative beliefs about mankind or the future.
Keep at it.
Asking God for a revelation of his reality and not receiving one is pretty tough medicine, but convincing.
EDIT : Servant leader, I would not feel inclined to help anyone that showed me disrespect or distain, but if it meant that I could help them avoid eternal torture or death, I would have a moral obligation to reveal myself to them, and I would do it out of empathy for humanity. That is the difference between me, a human that you believe to be evil and the God you worship and claim is loving.
If a person approaches God asking for help or proof of existence, his silence is deafening and more than revealing about the likelihood of his existence and at the least reveals his nature as unkind and cruel.

These are not lies.... The problem begans with the you or the one who asks..... Why should God give or do anything for those who don't believe or have faith in Him?
Would you help someone who openly scorned and showed nothing but disrespect and contempt for you? I DOUBT IT!
Unbelievers don't understand that God does for His own.... If your heart and life has been submitted to him, and you are following His will for your life.
If you ask for something that is foolishness or that you only want from a materialistic standpoint... forget it! God does bless everyone from time to time... but not in extremes with a motive of lust or greed.
You are the problem.... not God.

Sadly, the Bible does not lie anywhere.
You have made the human error of judging all things by your own, individual experience.
You do not represent a cross-section of humanity.
No offence, however you are but one individual and lacking understanding, at that.
Continue to knock and you will receive.
Even better ....receive those who knock on your door hoping to discuss these matters.

The Bible is all a lie if it isn't real to YOU. The Bible is the truth only if you regard it as the truth.

If you're going to claim the Bible is full of lies, it would help if you cite some.
EDIT:
I *really* think you should go back and read that again.

Jesus was addressing his disciples. He wasn't talking about your wish for a BMW.
I'm not a Christian. I think Christians are full of ****. Yet, I'm faced with the stark reality that most atheists are also full of ****.
The Bible is a book. If you're going to talk about it, READ it. I've never seen such ignorant-*** arguments about Huckleberry Finn, but I see them all the time about Jesus. It drives me up the frigging wall!
