....I have a clean, short, neatly trimmed beard. People say it looks better on me than if I didn't have it all.

Having said this, I have an interview tomorrow...for an analyst position. People do wear beards in the business...but it's not all that common (more folks wear goatees than beards). What do you think? Should I go with it for tomorrow's interview, or not?

Please let me know your thoughts on this. Thanks.

If you have had a beard for a while and then shave it off somethime the skin underneath looks a bit different for a few days as it may be paler than the rest of your face so for that reason I would say stick with the beard.

It depends on your interview and the position and type of office you will be interviewing for. If it is a conservative position, I would go in with no beard and certainly not a goatee or other strange shaving technique. If you feel you are interviewing in a more casual environment, your beard may not be an issue. However, if you have not done your homework on the business and you really believe you want this job, a shaved face is best. You can always grow it back if the company is comfortable with it.

If you shave it now you will be self-conscious throughout the entire interview. Go as yourself. You'll be less inhibited and have enough to worry about without second-guessing a last minute major change in appearance. Plenty of businessmen have facial hair of all styles and lengths...shouldn't be a showstopper as far as you getting hired.

If you change it right before the interview, you won't have time to get used to the change it it will be wierd for you. That uncomfortable feeling would come across as lack of confidence and could stop you from getting the job. Just be yourself.

Keep the beard, If it matters to them that you be clean shaved then this just may not be the company that you want to be working for.

Ive heard of studies that state that more clean shaven men get more high-payed jobs.
