can i use a blue ray disk player with a standard tv?

Yes, it will work, but it won't show you any better picture than a normal DVD player.

If you are thinking of buying one, wait until you've got an HDTV to take advantage of it. That way, you'll get it when the price goes down.

go to walmart and buy a $30 dvd player instead
