of course I take Pills, I know that antibiotics don;t protect me from getting pregg. I need to know if I have a chance of getting preggo, if I started on antibiotics and I did not use a second protection.

When you are on the pill which is not 100% to begin with anyway, the use of antibiotics reduces the effectiveness of the pill by a huge amount. They always tell you to use an alternate type of protection when you are taking antibiotics. I know so many pill babies...I have one myself. Also two kinds of protection is the best way to be 100% against pregnancy but nothing prevents std's when it comes to sex or even heavy sex without intercourse. So, it's all a risk and withing a marriage it is ok. That is if both parties are committed to the marriage or relationship. That is why it is most important to be wise and choose partners carefully and wisely and make sure they are clean before you think about it. Good luck, if it was before taking the antibiotics it should not make any difference, you are protected as much as the pill can protect you unless you take the antibiotics and then have sex. That gives you greater odds of pregnancy. Miss Mary

You didn't say whether or not you're taking birth control pills, but I've read that antibiotics can reduce the effectiveness of the pill...so while you're on them...make sure you take extra precautions, like using condoms until at least five days after you're off the antibiotics.
Other than that though, if you're not using birth control, then antibiotics don't lessen or increase your chances of getting pregnant.

Strange question. Of course you can get pregnant while on antibiotics. Antibiotics merely serve to rid the body of infections. It's not a shield against pregnancy or a contraceptive.

It's still possible to get pregnant. if you are taking the pill and have a course of antibiotics the manufacturers suggest using another form of contraception (eg. condoms) if you don't want to get pregnant. and if you aren't using any BC methods - the antibiotics will make no difference to whether you get preggo or not :>

Me Me Me, I got preggers with my third the first month I was on bc and antibiotics. It was a shocker at first, but now I'm thrilled. The way I truly new was when I missed my period during the time I was supposed to get it, when I was at the 4th pill during period days I took a test and it came up positive. GOOD LUCK and hope things turn out OK

The pill loses potency when you are on antibiotics. You should always use a condom when on antibiotic treatment. I do know of someone who had her daughter while on antibiotics. The pregnancy was not planned. Be careful!

what!!??
first of all - if you didn't start the antibiotic til thursday - what does that have to do with wednesday!
second - antibiotics are not birthcontrol - so of course you can still get pregnant - and if you are taking bc pills - the antibiotic willl mess them up so you could get pregnant.

You would have to have already been on antibiotics for your birth control pill's effectiveness to be compromised.
