I have a blog thru wordpress. I used Filezilla. If I download the public_html file to my desktop can I put it on a portable hard drive to work on my site on the go?

Would I need additional programs and will this work?

Thanks

I take my thumb drive, with a folder full of website files, all the time! It assumes, of course, that you'll have access to a computer (either yours or someone else's) that has some sort of editing software that'll diddle those website files, and of course, you'll need a computer (yours or theirs) with a copy of Filezilla to load up the edited results, if that's what you intend to do... If you have all that, then...no problem!

Wordpress or any other blog uses a database for storing the content of the blog.

If you are making up the blog post on your harddrive, (you can do it by installing a webserver on your system and installing the worpress software locally), it amounts to storing the content on your hard disk.

It is not files that you need to upload. You will have to update the database which is quite a tricky/risky affair (in general no one accesses the database directly for storing/updating data)

Nothing is an impossibility, if you still intend to you may workout some solution for that ...
