also, how long does it take, and do your teeth hurt after they come off? i get mine of on dec 27th!!! cant wait!

There is some discomfort and pressure as the braces are removed, possibly filed, polished and mold taken for retainer but you'll feel so excited that the discomfort is no big deal. The whole thing is less than 1 hour and you have beautiful straight pearly teeth.
Congratulations, a great way to end this year and start of 2008. Make sure to wear your retainers so the teeth dont move.

They do hurt when they take them off. They literally pull the brackets off. Then they scrape of the glue which tends to hurt a lot. Then they file down your teeth with this saw looking thing ( I think that it polishes them or something). It takes about 30 minutes. It all depends. My braces were off in like 20 minutes. Your teeth will feel really weird and kinda slimy at first but you get used to them. They don't really hurt afterwards. They will probably take molds of your teeth for your retainer. That will hurt for the first week or so but the pain isn't that bad. Good luck and enjoy your new smile. I had my braces off since last year and I love my teeth now!

No way - it doesn't hurt at all! The only thing you feel is pressure when they pull the butterfly clips off your molars, but thats about it! I thought it was way more uncomfortable getting them on!
It takes about 30-45mins all up as they have to try to get the excess glue off your teeth also. Your teeth don't hurt at all; but they feel so lovely, smooth and slimey once the braces are off and I can guarantee you, you will be running your tongue over them for days!
I am excited for you! Don't worry about a thing; it doesn't hurt at all!

no it doesn`t hurt when they take your brackets off because they just twist off . but for your bands, they do hurt . the polishing kinda hurts . taking them of only takes like 10 mins but polishing and removing glue is the part that takes long . i took mines off in 1 hour . they don`t hurt after u take them off .

idk if it hurts but im sure it will because i havent walked out of the orthodontist without experiencing sum kind of pain
