You will never be a cop. As a felon you can not own a firearm, so end of story.
Sorry, but thats federal law. Felonies are an automatic bar and every police app says it. Misdemeanors would be OK on a case by case basis with most agencies.
Fenies are crimes punishable by more than 1 year in prison, BTW.....
The following classes of people are ineligible to possess, receive, ship, or transport firearms or ammunition:
Those convicted of crimes punishable by imprisonment for over one year, except state misdemeanors punishable by two years or less.
Fugitives from justice.
Unlawful users of certain depressant, narcotic, or stimulant drugs.
Those adjudicated as mental defectives or incompetents or those committed to any mental institution.
Illegal aliens.
Citizens who have renounced their citizenship.
Those persons dishonorably discharged from the Armed Forces.
Persons less than 18 years of age for the purchase of a shotgun or rifle.
Persons less than 21 years of age for the purchase of a firearm that is other than a shotgun or rifle.
Persons subject to a court order that restrains such persons from harassing, stalking, or threatening an intimate partner.
Persons convicted in any court of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence.

It does not matter how long ago you received your felony convictions, you will never be a police officer. Your best bet is to get involved some other way, such as juvenile counciler, or something along the lines of prevention. Young people will listen to you more than authority types because of your past. Whatever you choose to do, just make a difference.

There are actually not any " history tests " or " waiting era " once you purchase unlawful weapons out of the trunk of Jamal or Bubba's autos as a remember of actuality , they'd like that the " money purely " transaction take no extra effective than 5 minutes and be on a " no call " foundation certainly Bubba or Jamal would be much less in all probability to sell you a gun in case you informed them you had a " carry enable " as a results of fact they'd fairly sell to criminals than to regulation abiding those with firearms enables it extremely is simpler to yet an unlawful Gun on the line than it extremely is to purchase unlawful Fireworks on the line If weapons are outlawed......purely Outlaws would have weapons

You don't relay have a chance at being in the law enforcement.. I don't mean to be rude but even if you looked at one bad thing on the Internet they aren't going to let you in, because of the danger of a bad cop or embarsment ... If you are looking into going to the FBI, CIA, or ATF, it is even harder to get in which you won't be able to ... They do heavy background checks, on police records, Internet, phone, school, community, family records, friends and much more .. Sorry but you shouldn't' have done what you did !!! I DON'T MEAN TO BE MEAN IT'S THE TRUTH...

The issues that comes to mind first is that Candidates must be able to possess a firearm. A felony conviction normally prevents this. Here is the hiring announcement from two departments in IL:
