every man I know and half the women too. My boyfriend also does it a loud, obnoxious voice to boot! I don't think it has a thing to do with religion or spirituality. They just think its funny and makes them feel witty.

After that, it's too hard to quit.
As a child raised in the Jewish faith, we did the same thing with the songs in Hebrew. I don't know any pantheist songs, but if I did, I'd probably muck up the words.

I can't speak for all men, but I do it. Things are just so much more interesting to say when you have a nice melody behind it.
I'm atheist, though I don't know how that's relevant.
