not at all.
veggies are essential to proper health and a normally functioning metabolism. leafy vegetables are basically carb-free a couple of grams of carbs here and there from veggies surely isn't going to break a diet. 40 oz (1.4 lbs) of spinach only provides 40 grams of carbs.
what you want to focus on is the carbs that you eat from grains, beans, etc. vegetables really aren't a viable source of carbohydrates. there is a direct correlation with the body mass and body composition with the glycemic load of the carbs that you consume. bascially a diet that is high in low GI carbs will result in a lean body while a diet of high GI carbs will result in excess body fat. you are what you eat

No, do not give up your veggies. You actually need 72 carbs a day, but these are good carbs that you can find in vegetables and fruits. Be sure not to eat these at the same time. Eat fruit in between meals, and eat the vegetables with your meals.
Do not eat RAW broccoli (I know it tastes good dipped in ranch dressing!) because it will lower your thyroid function, hence, making it even harder to lose weight.
From all my studying and research, I have discovered that carbs act like kindling on a fire. They burn off quickly and leave you hungry a couple hours later. Fats are like a log, which takes longer to burn. That's why people who are on diets like the Atkins diet are never hungry. The protein on this diet sustains you through the day.
Don't believe me? Just try it for a few days. If you have reservations, a few days won't hurt you. This diet has gotten very bad publicity, but it has been around longer than Atkins was alive. He actually borrowed the idea from someone else.
Still don't believe me? Well, I lost 100 pounds on this diet, was never hungry, and my cholesterol actually went DOWN.
It's actually only the first two weeks of the diet where you're not allowed to eat veggies, but I cheated because I love my broccoli, and I lost the weight anyway.
Good luck to you.

Yes, going carb-free does mean giving up vegetables. It's a very bad idea.
The right ratio for your food intake should be: 40% protein, 30% carbs, and 30% fats. The fats are what give you sustained energy. The carbs are all quick energy foods. Be sure you are eating organic vegetables and not the typical local store bought veggies, because they contain little nutrients these days.
You should cook your vegetables or ferment them.
good luck

Just give up the bread, rice, pasta & taters. Veggies are the GOOD carbs. Most people who need to lose weight don't eat enough veggies. Eat your veggies! And remember raw is always better nutritionally than cooked. Honest!

I have been on a low-carb diet for the past 6 years and all I eat is lean meats and vegetables! If you cut out all vegetables in your diet as well as all other carbs, and only eat protein, you will NOT survive! You will feel constantly tired and have no energy to even pay attention to what others may be saying to you! Please keep vegetables in your diet, but cook them in a healthy fashion: boil them, sautee them with a tiny bit of olive oil & garlic or roast them in the oven with lots of delicious spices! DO NOT bake them casserole style with all the cheese in the world or sautee them in butter &/or cream, etc!
Vegetables have a LOT less sugar than fruits & other carbs and they digest slowly to make you more full & are full of healthy fiber!! Please Please Please do not cut them out!
The only ones that I do not eat on a low carb diet are: corn, potatoes, sweet potatoes/yams, peas & carrots

Low carb diets are a bad idea. The body thinks it's starving since it is malnourished and as soon as you stop the plan, you will pack the pounds back on. Try a low fat diet or a low glycemic index diet. Those allow all foods, just in moderate amounts.
