Its for protection of your parts, lol. Your can trim it down with small trimmers/scissors, you dont have to ask your parents. I dont like it either, but im a woman and nowadays its mandatory that we keep it barely visible or waxed. you'll get used to it..

Pubic hair, like many things on or in your body, once had a pretty nifty purpose- keeping your intestines and private parts warm. Now, depending on where you live in the world and how comfy your underwear is, it's not necessarily a necessity. However, if you think it itches now, just wait until you shave it! When it starts to grow back, the edges of the hair will still be there and they will be cut by the razor to a fine angle, which will poke and scrape the sensitive skin surrounding it, making for and EXTREMELY itchy time. The best and what i consider ONLY way to get rid of most any body hair that's not on your head is to have it PROFESSIONALLY waxed. You could try nair but those chemicals so close to your privates, to me, is a scary prospect. So i would use conditioner. You know, like the stuff for your head? on your pubes. this will help moisturize the area, make the hair softer and smoother and less irritating and itchy. If you think you can get your parents to buy it without asking too many questions, get some spray on benadryl. this stops ANYTHING from itching. I love it. When you get old enough, go to the local salon and ask for a Brazilian. they are expensive but will leave you baby smooth for more than a month. Good luck!

Hahahaha! I'm sorry. You know, I congratulate u for thinking outside the box. I've never wondered what pubic hair was for. I guess it's to help keep your private areas warmer. A lot of heat escapes from under your arms and your groin area. That's also why you have hair on your head. Ask a bald guy if his head is cold and he'll probably tell you yes. Just shave it off if it bothers you. Don't be embarrassed.

Humans typically grow hair in or near orifices because they are more sensitive and need more protection from dirt and infection. Think about it. We have hair in our ears and nose to prevent junk going in, we have eyelashes and eyebrows for our eyes, pubic hair for all that. Obviously we have evolved to have less and less hair, and some people are more hairy than others but if you really want to know, there it is. Otherwise shave it off. Use a regular razor, you don't need some sort of magical pubic hair razor. They are like $2 so I don't think you need permission for that.

Pubic hair is ment to protect you, it keeps your skin from getting easily agitated and getting rashes.
But it may also get worse if you shaved it.
if you really want to go through with it and can't get the courage to ask there is a kind of perfessional place that can do it for you which you may want to look up because they will tell you the dos and don'ts just for you. Then again that could be worse then asking your parents.

Go to wal-mart and they sell little buzzers for women in the section with all the shaving stuff. Or I guess you could use the ones for men. But they sell them there. If you can just get a ride with an older friend and buy one that would work out. They're only like $10- $15.

Pubic hair is required as a form of measurement quite common in surveying as a vertical dimension.

Males rarely shave pubic hair. Biologically, it is a sign of sexual maturity, and from an evolutionary point of view was a sign that the wearer was capable of procreation.

If it itches, you aren't washing enough. It does serve a purpose, in that it wicks moisture away from your skin preventing things like yeast infections and staph infections in the skin around your genitals. You do need to bathe at least every other day, or the salts and moisture will build up and cause itching.

Pubic hair cuts down on friction during intercourse. Without pubic hair, it is skin rubbing against skin. Good question!
