Holy water is water which has been blessed by a priest, or bishop for the purpose of baptism or for the blessing of persons, places or things. There's some variations of this, such as the water from Lourdes. There are also some examples of non-christian holy water.

I'm assuming they bless the water and therefore it makes it holy all of a sudden.

I've often wondered. My theological friends and I joked about taking ordinary water and 'boiling the Hell out of it', but as to the actual ritual or custom I know not.
P.S. I know that Satan hates water, and that without water, there's no life.

Get tap water:
then bring to a boil,
then boil the hell out of it and prayer :)

Why don't they just bless all the water at one time, one time, and get it over with
