Im so sick of people who don't know the answer they just think they do!! It makes me so mad I want to cuss them out to their faces! For example My sisters obgyn told me she is having PRACTICE contractions. I said oh you mean braxton Hicks and She replied NO they are NOT braxton hicks. yet this woman today claims to be a RN and says there is no such thing as practice and they are just braxton hicks..........well I think I trust the hospital obgyn over someone trying to claim to be a nurse. Who else is tired of this shi%

How do you think people get so many points? I wish people would ASK more intelligent questions insteas of things like "Who's hotter?' or all the ones about Mylie Cyrus/Hanna Montana

I worked in a shelter for pregnant women and, so, dealt with a lot of women in labor and not. Their OBGYN's called them braxton hicks. I don't know about you're friend's OB, but just because they made it out of medical school, doesn't mean they know everything. I've never heard an OB say practice contractions, sounds like the OB was trying to use less technical language or something.

Why ask a question if you aren't willing to consider the answers? If you are so positive that her obgyn is correct, what is the point of coming here? You already have the information you need and are willing to accept.
And you think RN's don't play on here either? They aren't real people who get bored on a day off? Where do they go after they finish their shift? Does the hospital/doctors office/clinic stuff them in a box and store them for the next day? WoW!
Did you consider the possibility that your sister might have misunderstood her doctor?
There's no need for such hostility. If you don't want to hear another person's opinion, it's really simple, don't ask for it! Problem solved.

The problem is that Yahoo is a very public forum. My dog could probably get an account here if he could reach the keyboard. People can see your question listed with questions about the Dallas Cowboys, Physics homework, or Survivor. If you are looking for honest, real medical advice this probably isn't the best place to look. I have never considered Yahoo Answers the place to go for honest, serious advice/discussion on any major topic in my life.

Sigh, I don't get why people get so worked up over this? I mean, I don't think EVERYBODY is being rude or answering for points, maybe people just answer to the best of their abilities and sometimes they are wrong.
Yeah some ppl do it just for the points, read it and move and forget about it. That's all you can expect from a forum such as this. There is nothing that can be done about, and getting angry only makes them happier and win, because they are looking for a reaction.

I don't know why the points matter that much, do they think this is a game? why did yahoo set it up that way?
But you know maybe this is a good clue to study up on your issues for yourself instead of trying to figure out who is giving you a good answer and who is BSing you...
