crow.... again: i think i know what your trying to say. i dont have the authority to say what should/cant/might/needs to be done, and i am not saying that, atleast i am not intending to. as i said before i know your supposed to pray. and if you already dont you need to make a goal of doing it 5x a day, on time, and should start asap, not next year, thats what i ment.

i hope noone takes my answer in the wrong way, i do not intend to insult or hurt anyone... i think you two should calm down... what's going on right now with the 'resolution' and what the young muslim is a misunderstanding,... english might not have the words she wants to express her idea and thoughts with ... and it seems resolution is the closest.. and on the other side, the second answerer.. i believe you should ligthen up a bit, and to not take things this literaly.. islam is the most beautiful of religion and it is supposed for muslims to show it that way, enough what the media is doing to our religion, we should not sound aggressive or mad over simple things, we better help each other and guide the young ones..
As for the question,.. i have some decisions and i hope Allah would help me with them.. of course to be closer to Allah.. and be a better muslim woman,.. to seek a better job with muslims who are executing the true morals that islam taught us to follow and to have, and to hopefully wear hijab... may Allah bestow me with the blessing of wearing it ISA.. and hopefully to meet a guy who has Allah in his heart... who has islam in his heart, not just on his ID...

Salam :) i'm a Muslim teen residing in Canada. I placed on hijab alhamdullilah and it fairly is for the main section usual here on the grounds that i stay in a huge city with a big Muslim inhabitants. I do get the few ignorant comments and idiots in college nonetheless who ask stuff like "yo have been given a bomb under there hahaha". however the toughest section is being different out of your human beings. Being a Muslim, events, alcohol relationship boys wearing revealing clothing etc is haram, and on an identical time as i do no longer desire to try this besides, it fairly is slightly awkward to might desire to describe why i do no longer do it to those that evaluate it in basic terms an component of being a teenager and its straight forward to them. Muslims residing in Muslim international locations actual have it much less complicated while it involves setting up in. And with nutrition it fairly is slightly complicated yet I constantly attempt to study the label if i'm undecided of the factors. yet i does no longer wanna be the different faith no count how perplexing it gets and how different i've got self belief from all people else, i'm chuffed to be Muslim :)

Do you understand what a new years resolution is?
Resolution means: a resolve or determination: to make a firm resolution to do something. So what you are saying is that one time for every new year you should only do this, when there is a hadith for prophet Mohammed saying about deeds everyday, like pray 5 times a day. Praying is a part of the five pillars which is belief. So what you're saying is we should make goal to believe? like praying and memorize the Quran? It is an obligation not a resolution for every muslim to learn the quran. Innovation in Islam is Haram anyway.
Everyday of a muslim's life should be with the focus on Allah (swt) and following the Sunna. Our goal as Muslims is to go to Heaven. Yes you are wrong sister.
I don't know why you are thinking like Christians. You are a muslim and you should observe Ramadan. Why Ramadan? this is why you are praying more and Fasting in Ramadan.
You are 14 years old and you think you know what you are talking about?
I'm asking you again, what do you think the porpose of Ramadan is? What have we been told to do in Ramadan and why we are told to do it? New years resolution is something created by the west, there is a hadith for Prophet Mohammed (SAW) saying If you are acting like some people other then Muslims then you are one of them.

I happen to agree with the other post. This is something introduced into Islam and is not Islamic practice. It would be like innovation. As Muslims we observe the Holy Month of Ramadan and during this time we are giving a chance to make our selves better by fasting and trying to change ourselves for the better. Not only during Ramadan but all our lives as Muslims we should strive to be better.
Chole to tell someone to lighten up that is sticking to Islam and following Islam how it should be followed is being a bit of a hypocrite right? Islam is meant to be followed as is, we are not to change it. I think that many people forget that as time goes by Islam will be lost till the nearing of judgment day. Ignorance will prevail. Islam will be looked at by its followers like any other religion. I think it is all of our responsibilities as Muslims to practice Islam as it was intended to be practiced not as the west wants us to practice.
As far as my knowledge this is also a thing which Pagans and Christians practiced.. It dates back maybe 3000 years. As their practice.

there's no such thing for me for this new year's resolution, what am I, a witch, basing my activities with the phases of the moon or other planets? If i have something to straighthen up, it starts when I realized something is to be corrected. Why wait till new year or the next day? Anyting could happen anytime. Die not except in the state of islam.

dear asker: i think croweye is right. wishing someone or something on the day/night of a certain, given day, which is - what a coincidence - is on 31th dec is a part of the western/neo-christian culture and their customs.
we muslims do not determine things on 31th dec night, we don't predict things or anything, AstagfiruAllah
we put our trust in Allah (SWT) no matter what. yes we can wish things like ask Allah (SWT) but always and not only on that particular night.
i know croweye a bit and i know that he is a bit vehement too, but i also feel what he tried to tell you
btw: croweye, i gave you a t/up lol
