She is my Mom and it embarrasses me and that is what concerns me for those who said why do you care?

She may have always dressed a bit of a tart, but when you are young and single no one really says much.
But when you are older and a mother, you aren't aware of how much things have changed, and you may not want to fit in with a soccer mom image, so you wear what you have always worn. And with each encroaching year it looks odder and odder.
Maybe it helps her to feel attractive, not realizing what shes attracting is ridicule instead of interest.

Well I am not sure what type of clothes you are referring to since teenagers dress in a wide variety of clothing. However, if you mean she is wearing small clothing, short skirts, silky tops, I would say that if she has the body, the clothes are classy and not trashy and they look good on her still, then why not? Age does not define you and it should not define how you dress. Personally some clothes I don't think anyone should wear, age has nothing to do with it.
PS. I have seen some women in their 40's that look about 20....they can look even better in the clothes then some teenagers!

Because she can, that's why! That's the joy of being an adult! Maybe she still has a smokin' body! You wear waht make you feel good about yourself. Who are we to be judge and jury? Look at some actresses who are in their 40's and 50's!
Oh, by the way, guys and girls....
Since when is being 40 THAT old and disgusting like some of you have said!! One person said that she was crazy, as well!
Let's see what all of you look like at that age!!!!
To the daughter who is embarrassed of your mom...
Be proud and happy that you have a mom who has a good self-esteem, and that you still have your mom in your life!

go to the store RAVE my moms 43 2 and has 4 kids also lol she goes to rave its a good store 2 dress like a teenager

Why would another person wonder what a woman of 43 that has 4 chitlins and dresses like a teen is thinking.

Some mothers just want to be "hip" and "cool" like their children, so they model their clothing off "hip" and "cool" females, but often these females are Paris Hilton or Britney Spears, who make wearing a rag look conservative.
My dad does something similar to this, but with songs. He memorized "Big Girls Don't Cry" and the "Soulja Boy" dance to try to impress me. Totally nerdy, not working, Dad!

My dad does the same thing! They wanna feel young again, they dont like that fact that they are middle aged and there kids are growing up! So they go out and buy clothes and cars that teens would have... She wont last very long dont worry 5 yrs at the most!

She's going through a mid-life crisis. She'll get over it eventually. If she is not married, may be trying to attract a man. If she IS married, may be trying to attract a different man! The 40's for women is HARD.....take it from one who is 48....boy, wonder how much harder the 50s will be? The 40s is when women realize their looks are going, and going fast!

Mutton dressed as lamb? She's not the only one for what I can see in the street on a daily basis. Obviously somebody who got stuck at some point of her life and hasn't been able to go on.
