Why were the astrologers able to communicate with the stars to find where Jesus was and present him the gifts? Matthew 2:7-10, "Then Herod secretly summoned the astrologers and carefully ascertained from them the time of the star’s appearing; 8 and, when sending them to Beth′le·hem, he said: “Go make a careful search for the young child, and when YOU have found it report back to me, that I too may go and do it obeisance.” 9 When they had heard the king, they went their way; and, look! the star they had seen [when they were] in the east went ahead of them, until it came to a stop above where the young child was. 10 On seeing the star they rejoiced very much indeed"

Why did God warn us against going to magic practicing priests and fortune tellers if they weren't real? You mean to say God can't distinguish between trickery or "Illusion" and real magical powers?

I just think just as scientist try to substitute the theory of evolution for the the creation, they want us to believe that real magic is all illusion
trying to use a scientific explanation for every purpose. Now, there are some who use illusion, I'm not disputing that. But there is a difference btw illusion and real magic and some magicians use real magic.

The Desire of the Ages had been known since Noah's day.
Moses wrote of the coming Messiah and all wise men were looking for Christ. The appearance of the Star was a great sign to these star gazers because it moved different from other stars and they had studied these stars all of their lives. They had been watching for this day and the day had arrived that the King of the Jews would be born. The wise men brought gifts fit for a King because they new the long awaited Messiah, Highest Priest and Great King had arrived. Unlike the church folks in the temple that never read God's Word the Torah, these men knew what Moses and the prophets had written about the coming Savior of the World.

See - you either believe or you don't believe. The wise men believed and travelled a long way to see the King and bring Him gifts.

Herod was able to ascertain where the Christ child was to be born by asking the ones who knew at least that, the scribes.
The scribes, were able to read it for themselves in MIcah 5:2.
