A saver return is £201, but will go up in the New Year. If you book far enough in advance you can get a Value Advance SingleC for as little as £40 each way. You are looking, incidentally, at a 24 hour journey, leaving Penzance at 14.42 one afternoon and arriving in Thurso at 14.27 the next afternoon. There is a sleeper available, however.

Cost depents entirely on when you are travelling, if you have any discount rail cards, if you want a single or return or how far in advance you book.

The above website will tell you the cost for your journey
