YES they can remove what they reported off of your credit report. I just went through and cleaned up my credit and just make sure u request the information to be removed. The only items that cant be removed are utilities, ex. PG&E. But i had AT&T, Comcast Cable & Washington Mutual all removed from my credit report after paying off the debt. Just remember to get names and even the times u spoke to them since many "record the conversations for quality purposes" and dont be shy if one says they cant, ask for somebody else or call again later.

Yes, you are wrong to think that it will just be deleted when it was your mistake and not the credit agency by not paying the bill to begin with.
It won't be off your record but It will show up as cleared.
Pay the $34.00 and pay with a check or money order so that you will have proof and a receipt that you have paid it.
When it comes time for you to use your credit, atleast you will have it paid off and that is very important to banks and loan companys.

They can't delete it from your credit record, but they can report it as paid in full if you do so.

If you have several outstanding accounts, the best way to handle them is pay the minimum amount due on each one, but put every last nickel you can towards the one with the lowest total balance due. When that's paid off, put all of that money towards the debt with the next lowest amount due. As you pay off a debt, keep rolling the free money into the debt with the lowest amount due, and you'll get through these.

It won't be really deleted in the history. But paying it will help your credit as you will no longer have an active collection on your file it will be ultimately disappear from your file in 7 years. Pay it!

Also for the future, in order to avoid getting into debt/trouble with credit cards, consider a prepaid credit card.

I think these are a great alternative to evil credit cards that sink you further into dept. These teach you financial responsibility and I have been using them to stay afloat my bills and only buy things I REALLY can afford.

If you pay the $34, it will show that it's been paid, but the fact that it was late will remain on your records.
