I have about the same Bushmaster rifle as that, but with a Bushmaster lower with their match trigger set. It's a very accurate rifle, and good for 400 and beyond, if you've got a scope that can handle that much elevation change. I have an SWFA SS 10x42mm rifle scope, and it's able to get me to about 600yards reliably, but I don't have the opportunity to shoot that far very often.

Mine prefers the Black Hills 69 Grain hollow points, but their 68 grain reloads are a close second for cheaper shooting.

not a bad combo, but that extra 4" barrel is not needed for 400 yards. But it never hurts to have too much, rather than too little!

Nothing wrong with what you got. You may find 62 grain ammo shoots best in it though you do need to test a variety of ammo to find what your new rifle likes most.
