Their are a lot of egg drop questions on here but their are none where the only thing you can use is wood
the requirments:
All wood no paper or cardboard
no thinker that the width of a popsicle stick

i need help i cant think of any ideas
lightest mass wins
egg will be supplied at the start of class

The designs will fall into two basic categories.

1. Absorb the impact. This is harder to do with wood than with a 2-foot padding of cotton. I can see maybe trying to build something springy from the wood and absorbs the shock. Something like an ball-shape that the egg is in the center of. The ball is designed to crush on impact and have the force absorbed that way, yet the egg is designed to have the force directed around it. Kind of like some modern car designs that will take the force of the crash and use crumple zones to absorb that force. The passenger (while still getting a pretty good whammy) comes out fairly safe. It would take some thinking to come up with a design out of wood that can properly do this but it would be impressive.

2. The glider/wooden parachute design. You basically slow down the fall so the force of impact is less. This one is the most self explanatory and there are many ways to do it.
