Will the broth from chicken noodle soup work, if I strain it out?

Thanks!

I am making a pan sauce, with cream cheese. Like an alfredo.

If you have absolutely nothing else on hand resembling chicken broth, I say go for it. If it's condensed soup, remember to add a little water to it or it will be very salty!

Do you have boillian (sp) cubes? Beef or chicken flavored would work, just add water. I don't think I would strain out Chicken Noodle Soup to make a Creamy Alfredo sauce.. I have never heard of Alfredo Sauce made with Chicken Broth to begin with. Here is the recipe I use:

INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup butter
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 cups milk
6 ounces grated Parmesan cheese
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

DIRECTIONS
Melt butter in a medium, non-stick saucepan over medium heat. Add cream cheese and garlic powder, stirring with wire whisk until smooth. Add milk, a little at a time, whisking to smooth out lumps. Stir in Parmesan and pepper. Remove from heat when sauce reaches desired consistency. Sauce will thicken rapidly, thin with milk if cooked too long. Toss with hot pasta to serve.

Samantha, the chicken broth is more for the little oil left in it and the liquid. Use water in the amount called for in the recipe, and add one strip of bacon. If you don't like the looks of the bacon, just pull it out after your dish is cooked. It will add some flavor and the oil in it will replace the oil from the broth. Now, if that is too much trouble, use the water as above, put one teaspoon of olive oil in to replace the oil of the broth. Either way will work, one giving flavor, the other not. Hope this helps.

Any chicken broth from a can of soup (just strain out the veggies or noodles), vegetable broth, or beef broth.

If you have vegetable broth, that might work. Do you have buillion cubes? They're probably saltier than liquid broth, so do take that into consideration.

Please tell us what your making.
OK, I think a can of soup might work. Just take into consideration the salt content. If its condensed soup you might want to add a little water. Who knows it might taste better this way. Nothing tried nothing gained.

dont see why that wouldnt work, you could also use boullion if you have it, or the packet from the "chicken" flavored ramen noodles.

Use milk. It'll thicken beautifully!
