First of all what state are you in and how old are you? My cousin lives with her father and has 2 kids and she gets public assistance. She tells them her dad doesnt support her cause he doesnt, and they help her out. I know in illinois child insurance a.k.a. kidcare is mandatory. Also i didnt hear anything about the father not that its any of my business but is he helping?? There are alot of agencies that help out no matter what the situation is . Try Red Cross and or Catholic charities. Also the state sometimes pay's for child care for children with special needs depending on what your child's situation is. Good luck!

I can see where it may be an issue for him. It is a constant reminder of your one night "fling" as you put it. And the fact that daddy is in jail probably doesn't help either. Sounds like you made some bad life choices, not that I'm judging, I'm only answering your question. So at times he may use that against you or it may come out in his actions. He may also not like the idea of raising someone elses child. You really do have to ask him. Anything anyone says on here would be pure speculation. But the fact is, if he can't deal with your child he may not be the right one.

"Craped on by the state"?????????

THE STATE DID NOT MAKE YOU REPRODUCE WITH A MAN WHO COULD NOT/WILL NOT SUPPORT HIS FAMILY.

You've made the choices that have brought you to this point in your life. Now is the time to stop placing blame on your mom, your baby's daddy, the state, etc. and start dealing with the life you've been given.

Christmas isn't about gifts. Christmas is about being together as a family. Contact Toys for Tots and ask if you are eligible for their program. If not, make the most of what you DO have.

You are not doing your children any favors by playing the victim. Life sucks sometimes. You have to improve your attitude for the sake of your children.

www.freecycle.org
and craigslist,

great ways to get some free stuff,

also big brothers big sisters,

I will be giving my children ALL second hand stuff, from goodwill, or freecycle,

Nothing tremendously special , but I did buy them crayons, and stuff from the dollar store,

and A choclate bar, and

2 apples,

and carmel sauce

I am making homemade play dough and putting it in a plastic baggie

and we will make cookies for santa, with just some flour and sugar and butter and egg,

and dollar store paper decorations
( we are making ourselves) for our second hand tree, thats missing a few branches,

The clothes that I got were 3 jeans and a coat, and 4 shirts,

then for my little guys ,
I will just wrap up old toys my oldest son has already and they can enjoy opening up the packages,

My 2 little ones are 2-3 years old

My oldest is 11 nearly 12

and HIS big present will be 3 second hand video games we got from freecyclers,
( I traded them house cleaning for these,)

and 2 BURN videos

So all together I spent less than 25 dollars for all 3 of my kids

(I was a former single mom, but now i am a stay at home mother, and my husband is an accountant)

NO ONE has money so please don't feel sorry for your kids,
Why not do the best with what you have, Use news paper and popcorn for decorations and wrapping paper

let them color the wrapped gifts them selves and
clip off some branches to make your own wreath for the door

You can make it fun for them,

ask friends to burn some DVD's for them,
save things and prepare for this thru the year,

And like I said FREECYCLE.ORG
is the best place, you can barter services for items,

and just wash up the clothes and Iron them like new,
My son doesn't mind in the least, he loves new stuff,

and when we are finished we trade them back, or donate them to someone else,

Ya, I think if you tell them that your mother doesn't support you in any way they have to help you out. um.... mmm I was thinking, can't your daughter get on disability? I mean I know she is young but i still think she would be able to get it? idk... Maybe contact your local salvation army, church or Social Services, and tell them whats going on, someone should be able to help. Also the salvation army may donate toys, so that your little ones can have a christmas. Good luck!!!

well. i'm not very experienced since im not a mom yet but i think maybe you could work for people as a maid maybe and if the person's nice enough, they would take care of your daughter for a while for less money than other daycares :S

Sorry for your problems. If I wasn't having problems my self I would help a bit. I would Call a local radio station and see if they know of any groups that can help you or some churches in your area.
