The main thing causing global warming is the ozone layer. Global warming is when we have too much carbon dioxide so that the heat from the sun can't get out of our atmosphere so it warms up our planet. Some factories have things that keep pollutants out of the air. So not all factories with smoke coming out are causing it. :)

Basically for no warming to take place the amount of heat being radiated by the earth back to the sun would equal the amount of heat falling on the earth. You have correctly identified the ozone layer helps reduce the amount of heat falling on the earth which was why it was so critical to deal with the gases which depleted that layer.
But there is a theory that amount of heat being radiated back to space is being reduced by gases in the atmosphere like carbon dioxide and methane. It is a theory but most climate scientists, not all, believe that this explains what is happening.
A factory having smoke is emitting carbon dioxide so it is contributing.

There is no solid evidence that global warming is caused by man made pollution. Its much more likely that the cause of global warming is from the natural events that occur such a volcano’s and our Sun. Ozone is created by the solar wind when it crashes into our ionosphere. In the 50’s people were told to duck and cover if an atomic bomb went off and global warming is much like the same hype.

Global warming is caused by factory smoke stacks, cars and anything that burns fossil fuels like oil. Over the last hundred years or so the soot from all these factories has settled in the arctic causing less sunlight to be reflected therefore creating an ice melt. The gasses created by burning fossil fuels tends to make our atmosphere absorb more heat as well. All this melting ice in the arctic will eventually cause the sea levels to rise flooding more and more of the coastline. In fact, the land will shrink.

The evidence is clear. Global warming is a cyclical event, every 1500 years. We did not cause it and we cannot stop it. To think that we did or could would be arrogant.
Period.

Sorry, I did my homework all by myself, (without access to fast internet connection as you today mind you), and I suggest you do the same. You might remeber it that way instead of someone doing it for you.

Carbon Dioxide emissions from cars factories and fires all contribute. Carbon dioxide is like a coat that lets in light & traps heat
