Good question.

The world drastically changed after the American Revolution.
Ordinary people all over the world, France 1789 South America, 1820 Italy1873, Greece and other countries decided they didn't need a Divine Right Ruler like a King or Queen anymore. So they had their own revolts and the world has never been the same. That was 231 years ago(1776) and a lot has happened with governments since then.
So, your question would have to assume everyone would still be ruled by a King or Queen

None. Columbus did not open america. He is just given historical credit for discovering america. The vikings were here long before columbus, but because of the distance between spain and our nation, there could really be no lasting influence of spain here. The native americans would have destroyed the puny protective structures created to give the invaders a feeling of security. One has to understand that wilderness predominated the surface of our topography. Our indiginous population knew how to use it for its benefit. Can you visualize how members of foreign invaders dressed in heavy clothing, armour, with poor physical hygiene, and only their silly muskets and swords to use for survival? Boy, what hinderance. So, our nation results from the determination to be rid of foreign doctrine. The price was steep. But here we are.
