APPLESAUCE CRANBERRY COOKIES
2 3/4 cups whole wheat white flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 cup oatmeal
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup butter
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 cup maple syrup
2 tablespoons molasses
2 tablespoons honey
1 1/2 cups applesauce
1/4 cup pecans, chopped
1/4 cup chopped macadamia nuts
1/4 cup dried cranberries or cherries
1/2 cup golden raisins
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon rum or bourbon (optional)
Soak dry fruit and raisins in a coffee cup with a few tablespoons warm water (or rum) for 10 minutes before using. Reserve liquid.
Combine all ingredients by first adding all dry ingredients together and stirring to mix well.
Next, beat eggs and add to liquid ingredients (including liquid used to soak raisins and cranberries), adding vanilla last.
Finally, stir in nuts and cranberries or raisins. If mixture seems a little dry, moisten slightly with a few tablespoons of water until mixture has the consistency of a soft ice cream.
Drop by spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets and bake at 400F until edges of cookies are golden brown, about 20 minutes.
Remove from cookie sheet and cool on wire racks. Store in an airtight cookie jar - these cookies keep well and are great to take on Summer road trips or to pack in lunches.
Recipe may be doubled.
Chopped pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds may be substituted for a portion of the nuts in recipe as a variation.

White chocolate macadamia nut cookies using the Nieman Marcus $250 cookie recipe, except using white chocolate chips and a white chocolate bar instead of the chocolate chips and bar, and using macadamia nut liqueur instead of vanilla extract. This recipe is a basic cookie recipe, except you put in food processed oatmeal along with the flour for texture and a fine shaved candy bar into the dough. They're awesome, and I don't even like cookies. But, everyone always demands them each year, so what can I do?

Sugar cookies are always good and you can put holiday colored sprinkles or sugar on top.
The link below shows you different ways of making them fancy/plain etc. and has other recipes you might like as well =)

apple sauce raisn cookies with a touch of cimmon added to the batter. If you make your"own" receipe with a few of you own indgredients added--it can't be copied. I like to make rasin suprize cookies Sugar cookies are a basic receipe so you can start with that and just go from there, and add to your hearts content--just don;t over do. You can find a sugar cookie receipe in most cook books--but to be a good baker add your own ingredents and ab-lib If I gave you a receipe--" It wouldnt be "your" cookies--now would it? I have started with the basic sugar recepie and ended with the suprize rasian cookie, Let your imagine --go--wild. LOL
best of luck and Happy Holidays to you and yours,

I know this is corny, but who doesn't LOVE chocolate chip cookies! I always use the recipe on the back of the Nestle's Toll House bag of chips. Everyone loves them and I doubt anyone would complain!
