I recently picked up a prescription for generic medication. The pharmacy said the insurance co. wanted to talk to the doctor first before they'd cover it. I bought the medication anyway, it was cheap enough.

If i have my doctor call them now, would they possibly reimburse me for the cost they didnt cover originally?

Most insurance companies will not retroactively apply the prior authorization of a doctor. For you next refill, it should be no problem.
