No, the lack of food and calories will hurt your diet. Better eat more or else you'll start to become anorexic or have some other eating disorder.

Forgive and forget, and never let Mom buy you lunch again. You need to eat a better balance of foods so you will be able to turn down the crap food. Go to mypyramid.gov for a healthy food guide. Eat 5 mini - meals about every 3 hours. "Meals" refers to a protein and a veggie or fruit and a healthy fat (nuts, salad dressing, seeds, low fat yogurt or cottage cheese - these are to be consumed with restraint!)
Example: 1 hard boiled egg, 70 - 80 calories, an organic spring green salad, with a regular vinaigrette dressing (NOT low or free of fat!), you may add other veggies, but not other stuff, only count the calories in the dressing 70-100. OR A low fat yogurt, 180 calories, or 1/2 cup of cottage cheese, 100 calories, with Fruit (a small apple or banana is about 100 calories)

If you eat 5, 200 calorie meals that are balanced you will keep your metabolism up and have energy for the work-outs. Your stomach will shrink and you will not be as hungry or apt to cheat on the diet.
Pack your food for the whole time you are away from home. You will not be able to buy healthy food at work/school/on the road.

NEVER
Drink soda, not even diet!
eat anything white (as in bread, potato, rice etc.)
Avoid caffeine, coffee stimulates you digestive system and will make you hungry.

It's not the calories you need to be concerned about in a baked potato with cheese, it's the saturated fat (in the cheese) and the carbs (from the potato) which can turn into sugars.

Unless you are on a serious diet, learning how to eat healthy seems to be the bigger issue in general. Losing weight seems to work best when you combine exercise and good eating habits. Stay away from processed sugar as much as possible (no candy, cookies, baked treats, ice cream, etc.), saturated fats (many dairy products, chocolates) and exercise. This isn't to say you should stay away from all dairy because you also need the calcium and protein they offer.

Curb your hunger pains with water or chewing gum and no when to say no to food while maintaining a regular exercise program that includes regular cardio (aerobics).

Well, things that have alot of calories arent really unhealthy for you, there are actually many foods out there with alot of calories, but are VERY healthy for you, like penut butter, it has alot of calories and alot of fat. but the calories and fat in it are healthy and your body WILL NOT store it on your body. it will just use the positive energey to get you through your daily activities.

The potato is loaded will alot of healthy minerals and proteins and such, and the cheese, cheese has quite a bit of fat. but again its the healthy kind. Go ahead and eat it... it WILL NOT hurt your diet.

The nacho cheese will, but the potato is very good for you, lot's of fiber. I would take off the cheese and eat the potato.

The cheese can be high in fat, but the potato is full of potassium, and fiber. Next time, try to get a potato with broccoli in it. You can make them at home too, and use reduced fat cheese instead of whole milk.

Eating a potatoe is just about the worst thing you could eat if you are trying to lose weight.

Potatoes are so full of carbs that it is the equvilant of eating 3 candy bars.
