Jerry is absolutely correct. Converter boxes will be available to tune in the digital broadcasts on your existing TV with an antenna. Cable and satellite viewers need do nothing until 2012. People in other countries besides the US have a different time table so see this article if you do not live in the US.

For US Converter Box information call 1-888-DTV-2009 which is 1-888-388-2009 or visit this web site:

Analog signals will be switching to digital signals through the air. If you have an antenna on your roof, and your current television does not have a digital tuner, then you'll need to do some form of upgrading. If you have an older tube television, but have a digital cable box or satellite box you will be fine. If you're just running coaxial cable from the antenna, then you'll need to by a high definition tuner. Another option is buying a new DVD/VHS player that has a built in tuner. Hope that helps a little bit.

My bro told me that your TV has to be high definition by 2009. I don't know for sure, but that's what I'll be thinking for now.
