How is it that many of those who believe in reincarnation ask for proof of God, but themselves can't provide proof of their own "reincarnation"?

Yes, I do believe in reincarnation. No, I can't provide proof. And no, I don't require proof of God...not unless I'm told that a particular religion is the "truth" or the only right religion. Then I require proof....of which there is none.

You misunderstand reincarnation. It is not a 1-1 "you were somebody in the past" connection. The fact that the population of all living things on the planet continually rises is proof of this.

I believe in reincarnation in the sense that the essence of who and what we are returns to some 'pool' if you will when we die, waiting to be redistributed back into the world after we die. Consider that their are certain types of people, funny people, smart people, even dumb people and bad people. It seems like these tendencies keep reappearing, and the fact that the interactions of these types keep causing history to repeat aspects of itself is my proof that reincarnation is real. Their seems to be a finite pool of characteristics that we can be born with, and they come from reincarnation.

I can't really 'prove' this because I can't prove the existence of some ethereal pool where our essence goes. All I offer is my empirical evidence and some observations, so take it for what it's worth.

I see NO biblical evidence of reincarnation. Only God's Word could provide incontrovertible proof.

It is amazing how wide spread the belief is, even among Christians who should know better.

The mind of man is unreliable.

It's like "Deja view" where you incorrectly think you are reliving a moment you went through before (like in the film "Groundhog Day"). Have you experienced that? I have. But it is false!

False memories are a known phenominon, making life miserable for prosecuters in court!

Any one who really believes that they buried treasure in a previous life should be going back there with a shovel.

But that NEVER happens!

There are all those legends of pirate treasure on an island off the east coast of Canada, but it is never found. None of the pirates came back.

Ha! The irony!!!!

You, who demand that others respect that you operate on something called "faith" in lieu of substance, (which, in reality is nothing more than wishful thinking - intuition, if you will.)

You, who believe in all manner of impossibilities, and say that your faith is the evidence you need are the supreme hypocrite not to respect that those who enlist the idea of reincarnation (perhaps they, too, have faith, - an intuition that they were once someone else - perhaps a life of strange coincidences and memories follow them?)

You want proof? Your very Bible discourages needing any kinds of evidences other than "faith." (Thomas, Thomas...)

You are beginning to show signs that our skeptical seeds are beginning to sprout in your heart.

I am genuinely excited at the prospect that you may be beginning to see that your faith may, indeed, be wrong.

Good luck to you, my friend.

It's not so scary on the rational side of the fence. Life without God may be suprising liberating - moreso than you think.

Yes, I believe in reincarnation.

I will provide 'proof' when you can prove to me that you are a truly conscious individual... which you cannot do, just as I cannot prove to you that I am a conscious individual.

Who cares what you think? Proof not needed.

Nope. I believe in eternal life, through Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior.
