Well, it does depend on the age of the child, a thin switch used on the bare bum or thighs causes great pain with no damage. A few licks with a switch is all that is needed to get your point across.

As long as you don't do it when you are angry,I don't see whats wrong with it.I have used it on my nephews ,so has their parents.Its not abuse I really don't care who says it is.Its is a whipping..

A switch meaning a crop, or a switch meaning... your spouse taking the child for the afternoon? You shouldn't hit your child with any sort of 'instrument', although I do think spanking is alright with young children.

Time out and talking to children is much more effective. There is no reason to hit a child when there are perfectly acceptable discipline alternatives.

My parents never hit my brother or myself and we were both very well behaved. Treating a child with aggression only breeds aggression.

so you cant control your children with words or other types of punishment...you have to hit your children to get them to comply. sometimes its not always better to take the easy path..just beat em. ur doing the right thing. your kids wont hate you when theyre older...hitting them with a switch yea go you..we are all so proud..........
