Well, books, coloring, games, stories.... building a "fort" out of blankets and some chairs...

My son is entertained with just some running water in the sink. I empty out the sink, give him a couple of plastic cups, and he's set for at least 45 minutes to an hour! He's 2 1/2 :)

Cheers

You mean at Christmas or a party or something? I would go for card tricks, kids love them and if you're rubbish at card tricks they will delight in spotting those cards up your sleeves and get a lot of pleasure from watching you screw them up. There's lots of sites for magic tricks on the net, some of which are purely setting them up with no actual slight of hand involved. Give it a try kids are endlessly fascinated by magic.

My 13 mo old twin niece and nephew really love the funny faces i make. If they are in a bad mood, or i sense they are about to get fussy, i start making faces, singing songs, or playing peek-a-boo and they perk up and smile right away.

I also dance with my 3 year old niece and the twins. We watch movies together often. They also "help" me with chores by scattering whatever i'm doing all over the place and then watch while i clean it up.

kids love it when you dance! if we watch shows like dora or yo gabba gabba or backyardigans we dance! and they love to learn so teaching and good praise also entertains them. letting them outside...jeez louise! i cant tell you how many parents just stick thier kids in front of a tv to shut em up! they need to get that energy out. if you have a yard let them run, if not bring them to the park. let them play with other children. Get a kiddie pool and let them go swimming(supervise of course) arts and crafts, cooking and letting them help my daughter loves that.

Well whenever my baby cousin comes over I just put something funny on T.V obviously age appropriate. When my little brother was still a baby I used to make funny faces and say jokes.

Depends on how old they are and what they like to do. My 5 year old likes playing card games lately.
