I have just called Abbey National as that is who I have the credit card with as have a transaction whichwas dealt with in Hamburg( i live in the Uk) and they said they dont think it is fraudulent and I will have to contct a 0800 no. tomorrrow, the only other option is , is to cancel my credit card and I will recieve a new one with 14 days, come on, it is Christmas and i need it, why is it that they cannot deal with this complaint now!!! why do I have to wait. I work Mon to Fri 9-5 and now I will have to call them on my lunch hour? why?

You have two options here. You can cancel the card and wait for the new one to replace it, OR you can go along with the risk that someone has access to your current card and will use it for MORE fraudulent activity. Which is the better choice ?

Force them to prove you spent that money in Hamburg. Tell them to send you a copy of your signature buying whatever the item was - or if it was an internet purchase, tell them to get in touch with the seller to show what address the item was sent to.

Even if you cancel your card (a total ballache at this time of year) it doesn't help the item already billed - so they are fobbing you off.

Keep on at them. At least the number is a freefone one - which is a start.

It`s a bummer isn`t it. You have to spend a little time to stop some kraut stealing your money. Get real.
