As a Dealer myself, I can tell you that $175 for a Marlin 925 with a Scope is a GOOD Deal........Regardless of what scope is on it.......

Buy the Marlin or upgrade to a Remington 597. Have the dealer add a Nikon Scope in the $150 range that is adjustable in power magnification between 2 and 7 power (known as a 2 x 7) This is a much better gun and will shoot tighter groups on the range or in the field than the Marlin. Below is a link to this gun.

Marlin is a good rifle, the .22 mag is a fine round, the Tasco scope should do well within the rifle's range, and $175 sounds like a really good price......If the husband wants it, and the wife will buy it, it sounds like a Merry Christmas to me.....and by the way.......Merry Christmas !

That's a GREAT deal! BUY it quick before someone else does! Marlin makes a great rifle, and for 175 you just can't go wrong.

The scope is cheap!!! What kind of hunting is your husband going to be doing with this gun or is it just for targets?
