Or disproved? Think of how many people, spending how much time, on how many questions, and how many answers, arguing over whose belief (or lack of) is right, and whose is wrong - what if that time was used to do something creative, and beneficial? Or is it just too fun to argue and put others down?

Thank you! Excellent point. We could change the world if we chose to make productive use of the time alotted us in life, rather than arguing and debating unanswerable questions, couldn't we?!

Good point, but I don't think this is any worse than spending time watching sports or reality TV, etc. People just aren't going to spend all their spare time improving the world. At least on here sometimes we learn from each other. Understanding others' viewpoints must be of some use.

Not for all of us.

For some Christians, all this time spend is worth it, if they can 'save' one soul. You gotta give them credit for that, they are doing what they were sent to do.

For some Atheists, all this time is not wasted, if we can help a religious person, understand that relying on faith at the expense of reason or learning is a bad way to go. That act might save a family from splitting up or a person from going off the deep end with faith and hurting others like on 9/11

Debate is good for a democratic society, people should have the freedom of speech,if they should believe in God then so be it,they can pursue happiness in whatever way they choose.Humor is different, some people might laugh while others are a bit more serious.

Excellent Q! I don't spend time on religious matters, myself. It's pointless. I've got better things to do.
