They are called bungee bands and can be found here: http://smoothiesbyintuition.com/ponytail-holders.html

As one can see, they are being sold as ponytail holders. I like to use scrunchies on my pony tails so I've never used the bungee bands. They look like they would work ok if you had real thick hair. But they don't look like they'd be something that I would like to try.

LOL, I don't think those are hair bands, they look like bungee cords you use to tie stuff up and keep in place in your car trunk or truck.

I think they're used to tie up your hair then hook it into the hair that is against the head to keep it from slipping out. I'm not sure how well they work. They look like they'd be hard to do though.

They work, but I find them hard to use.

You gather a pony tail where you want it on your head, then you wrap that elastic once or twice around the hair and secure the two hooks within each other.

to pull your hair back. not like in a ponytail but just bunched up at the top or bottom of your head. i saw them in a magazine . Jessica Simpson uses them.

You gather your hair into a ponytail, then wrap the tie around the hair and then hook the little hooks together.

they look like bungee-cord ponytail holders (similar to the ones you can attach luggage to carts with); i assume they'd 'work' if you wrapped them around your pontail enough times to be taut.
