If you were in a 3 year relationship, and the other person forgot your birthday all 3 years and Christmas all 3 years and even Valentines day all 3 years. Would you be mad. Do you think I should be because its happening to me.

I really feel like I should be mad Seeing as I bought her everything she wanted for those 3 holidays.

You seem like a giving person.Only thing is the person you are with doesn't seem to even be trying to make a lick of effort to do anything for you.If the other person isn't going to put two cents into their relationship, then I think you just answered your own question.Yes,I would be mad and feel like the other person was just using me.

I would be upset but not mad... it's not about presents, it's about remembering and acknowledging you on those special days. if it's that big of a problem you should have told her the first time around... it's been three years and she still doesn't know? my bf had a problem with remembering dates so bad, on our three year anniversary he only thought we'd been dating for 1 year, it was funny but I understand, he's getting better though, but christmas and valentines day and though world celebrated holidays are kinda hard to miss, lol. i'd bring something up, but not in an attacking way or sarcastic or anything, just an honest convo.

How can someone you are in a relationship with possibly forget all those occasions, unless you have told her you did not want any gifts? I certainly don't see how she could ignore you at Christmas when the tradition is to gift most of our loved ones. How does she explain not giving you a gift?

And in answer to the question....Yes, I think I would resent it very much. I think I would have to just ask her why she didn't care enough about me to reciprocate all the things I had given her. Sounds crass, but it isn't just the gift, it REALLY is the thought that counts...and she isn't doing much thinking about your feelings.

I would try and talk to her, if you can, maybe take her out for a meal and talk about it there.

As we all know, they can take things like this very personally; but it does seem odd to just forget completely every time.

Perhaps mention it this Christmas? I have had it once, but not 3 years on the run like that.

Good luck!

Sounds like she has a money problem. If she works and has money to spend though, she is selfish. I would be hurt the first year, but 3 years is too much and you can't really beg for gifts. She is inconsiderate or broke.

I wouldn't be mad. I would be FURIOUS!
how could she do that to you?! unless she has some type of Alzheimer or forgetful disease its best that you dump her or tell her how you feel about missing your birthday. and if you don't see a change soon then you know what to do.

Then again no one can't force anybody to do anything it has to come from their desire to do something for that person. but its all how you view it honey. I'm sorry though.

Ummm yeah I would think so. Thats really selfish of her to forget you all three years of the relationship on all three occasions. I think you have every right to be upset and you definately need to have a conversation with her.

You don't forget 3 years in a row... let her go she doesn't seem all that interested if she can't remember the important things... that's just ridiculous
