Oh really???
He was an amazing musician and a brilliant poet, as well.
My favorite songs of his:
Souvenir
Run for the Roses
Another Auld Lang Syne
The Leader of the Band
Ahh! The Son of the leader of the band has died...
R.I.P
To answer your q, I don't know where his soul is now -- but he surely brought some heaven's light to earth while he lived.

In specific answer to your question, I can't add anything more than what "reap100" very eloquently said. I also just finished doing a search on YA and there are a whole lot of posts about Dan Fogelberg's passing, and I actually read through most of them and the majority, like me, have been very touched by him over the years. I actually posted a message on YA last night around 11:00 after I read about it while I was online. I can't even imagine a world without him and any new music that I'm sure he would have written. Fortunately we will always have the music he did create while he was with us. My younger years are filled with memories of his incredible music. I don't really remember exactly how or where I "discovered" him - I like to think he discovered me. He so touched me. Even though I didn't know him personally, I feel like he knew me because the way he wrote was just the way I thought and felt. His kind of talent is almost non-existent anymore. As far as I'm concerned, he is one of the most gifted and talented artists of my generation. Such a beautiful human being. The world is less now. My heart is hurting.

He passed away today, right?
Where his spirit is depends on how much he practiced spirituality, how much he learned and how much he progressed in life, but since he passed away just a few hours ago, he is more likely to be unconsciously attached to his body. The transition might take hours or days. After he is disconnected from his body, he will probably wake up in a place very similar to a hospital. In that place, he will recover from his disease and little by little comprehend that he is dead. Then he will start learning about everything he did right or wrong in life, he will meet his beloved ones and have a new family there, until he is ready to be born again, and that will certainly take him more than 2 generations from today.
Peace!

What an inspiration he was and so gifted by God. I'm sure he is in the Hall of Music with all of the other musical artists. Probably having a reunion and eager to learn more in the music field by his soul group. The more knowledge he learns at home the more he will bring back to share to those on earth.

Only Dan Fogelberg and God know the answer to this question. None of us is qualified to judge, and we have no way to know the private events of a life or the hidden secrets of the heart.

When YHVH made adam, he breathed into him the breath of life, and He became a living soul. He didn't have a soul, he was a soul. Likewise everyone else. If one is dead, they are in the grave, awaiting the resurrection. It is like a sleep. They know nothing, and they feel nothing.
